Moving Targets Velocity Estimation Using Aliased Sar Raw-data from a Single Sensor

چکیده
This paper presents a new methodology to retrieve slantrange velocity estimates for moving targets with speeds inducing Doppler-shifts beyond the Nyquist limit imposed by the Pulse Repetition Frequency (PRF ). The proposed approach exploits the linear dependency of the Dopplershift with the slant-range velocity for each fast-time frequency. Therefore, the echo from a moving target in the twodimensional spectral domain exhibits a skew depending on the target range-speed that is not subject to PRF limitations. By combining the developed scheme to retrieve the slantrange velocity with a methodology proposed elsewhere to estimate the velocity vector magnitude, the full velocity vector is unambiguously retrieved without the need to increase the mission PRF . The effectiveness of the method is illustrated with simulated and real data.

Imaging of fast moving targets using undersampled SAR raw-data
In this paper we propose a novel methodology to estimate the true velocity of fast moving targets using a single synthetic aperture radar sensor without increasing the Pulse Repetition Frequency. The basic reasoning is that, although the returned echoes may be aliased in the azimuth direction, its phase is informative with respect to the moving target trajectory parameters. We will use this kno...
متن کاملSAR Moving Objects Trajectory Estimation: Solving the Blind Angle Ambiguity with a Single Sensor
The Fisher information matrix for the unknown moving targets velocity parameters is computed as function of the antenna radiation pattern. The resultant matrix is analysed and the characteristics that the antenna gain should exhibit in order to enhance the estimation of the unknown moving objects velocity vector are deduced. Simulation results comparing the various antenna radiation patterns en...
متن کاملMultiple Moving Target Detection and Trajectory Estimation Using a Single SAR Sensor
| The paper presents a novel methodology for determining the velocity and location of multiple moving targets using a single stripmap synthetic aperture radar (SAR) sensor. The so-called azimuth position uncertainty problem is therefore solved. The method exploits the structure of the amplitude and phase modulations of the returned echo from a moving target in the Fourier domain. A crucial step...
متن کاملA new MTI-SAR approach using the reflectivity displacement method
A new method for moving target detection, localization, and velocity estimation using SAR raw data is presented which allows the determination of the target’s complete velocity vector. The method is applicable if the target has either a tangential velocity ( I l l # 0) or a radial acceleration ( ~ I R # 0), or both. It is based on the analysis of the Doppler rate map which is obtained from the ...
متن کاملAntenna Radiation Pattern Design for Moving Targets Velocity Estimation on SAR Imagery
In recent works the authors have shown that it is possible to retrieve the full velocity vector of a moving target from Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) data using a single sensor. This paper addresses the design of the radiation antenna pattern leading to the best velocity estimates. Aiming at this goal, the Fisher information matrix for the unknown moving targets velocity parameters is computed...
